Watch Video: Cyclone Ockhi couldn't break these children

(Mar 6, 2018, DG): Cyclone Ockhi had ravaged the Kerala coast, but it couldn't dampen the spirits of Jeenamol, a tenth standard student of St.Thomas School at Poonthura.

Tragedy hit her family when the cylone swept away the life of her father Silva Pillai. Pillai wanted his children to make it big in life. He dreamed that his son Jibin would become a Civil Engineer. Jibin is a twelfth standard student.

"My father wanted me to become a BSc nurse. He asked me to study well before setting off to work that fateful day", Jeena says.

Pillai bid farewell to his family on November 28, 2017. The news of his death reached his family like a storm on December 23.

"Father never wanted his son to take up the job of a fisherman. That day, my brother vowed to stay away from the dangerous sea and decided to fulfill our father's dream. Now, his only aim is to become a Civil Engineer", Jeena adds.

Both of them look forward to the exam with a glimmer of hope. " I believe that my father is watching over us from heaven. He is with us", Jeena concludes with tearful eyes.
